Beinecke Library

Image
The Beinecke Library was built in 1963. It holds old books and has no window to not burn the books, such as the Gutenberg Bible. The library has exhibition cases which change every week to show many Yale alumni's work.    Example of the old books.

My Weekend

Image
I took this photo on Sunday. St. Basil's Greek Orthodox Church is a 20-minute walk from Morse College. This Church really took my breath away as it was actually my first time ever visiting an Eastern Orthodox Church. The people were very welcoming to me, and I cannot wait to go back this Sunday. Both my friend and I are Ethiopian, and we found this little restaurant downtown called Lalibela. We took our friend Alex to try the food out, but when we get there, they tell me that there is no Kitfo (very popular meat dish in Ethiopia) and we had thought that he would not be able to experience a famous delicacy. Regardless, we got Tibs with Shiro and we said that he loved it. He said that he would come back before the program ends to see if there is Kitfo.

New Haven

Image
This photo was taken a day before I started classes here at Yale. It was a beautiful setting and I found it really calming to walk through. There wasn't a whole lot of people walking around so there was also a very calming setting. There was also a cool breeze which made things a whole lot better.     This is one of the photos I took on the first day in New Haven. I do not remember the building, but the restaurant's name was John Davenport restaurant. The view of the city's natural beauty really took me by surprise because, when I was in DC, there wasn't anything like this. And this sort of reminded me of my home city because it is also surrounded by mountains and forests.
